Last day of 2012

As we come to the eve of the new yr, I am just popping up to wish you all a wonderful future 2013!

Reflecting on 2012 today.. wOaH! It's been such a big yr.

Change of housing location, two operations, two recoveries, keeping with the emotional demands of a 3yr old toddler, making time at night to create wonderful extremes with allot of story/ late night monkey magic, as well as simple but lovely limited editions, meeting wonderful customers.

I have given allot over the last two yrs...So much! I think because this yr, has been pumping back into the business, I am def feeling a bit worn out.
2013 for me is about me and Paige.

To achieve that balance I need to slow down BR.

I am learning to say no....Gone are the days of strapping on a baby and sewing, I am quite tired at night and do not have it in me to sew until 3 every morning any more. So that will reflect on the amount of stuff listed on the website. Extremes will pop up, but focusing on face to face local consultations just to break it up the time online and get a bit more social.

Also random listings will pop up on instagram my wall. Why? Because it is easy, I pop the nappy down, take one photo to list.  Plus I like instagram more. It's such a more gentle way of sharing via a social media.

As a full time sole parent, it's my priority to make the best of my time as possible to raising a thoughtful, gentle caring person, and wow what an important age 3-4 to install teaching/values/patience, which will fingers crossed reflect into our relationship becoming an even more close bond of mother and daughter.

BR is my heart and passion, and Paige deserves me to put it aside for a yr. As much as I do not want to, (some of you know I am a sucker for punishment) I have to. Any good parent would.

I just want to take this time to say thank-you to all my dedicated fans that have been following the BR journey the last few yrs. 2014 will bring some exciting stuff, and I am looking forward to resting and getting back to the arts for the rest of 2013 and of course, making nappies when I feel like. This yr, you will be seeing some changes to my style, even though (I believe) I am quite flexible with design work, I want to sink my teeth into more crazy designs, meaning full designs. Zombies eating apocalyptic super burger storms vision goggles will be strapped on.

I will leave you with a few creations I have made in the last few weeks, you will see a few more uploads over the next coming weeks while I finish of my current orders.

Again thank-you, and wishing you all a wonderful 2013 full of fluffy cloth nappies, baby cuddles, and lots of support.

Epic!!

Woah what an epic 24 hours! Turns out I was sewing till 4 in the morning, then again from 10am to just finishing up now! I seriously feel like I fell down the rabbit hole.

I went with a more vintage feel, as we watch the movie 'Alice in Wonderland' the original at home, it's old school, it's our wind down sleepy time movie.

What a great way to end the weekend with this design! EPPIIICCCC!

I am going to crash and watch planet 51 with Paige now, and enjoy the Sun arvo vibes.

This week will be busy as well.
Studio is in full swing, think this was number 5 for the week, I have a steam train semi attached to every limb on my body.I feel like a black horse ready to flight or fight.

Right.

I am logging of cyber, time to pull out the unicorn glue and glue a few cracks together.

Yes your right.

I need sleep.

- I have worked 60 hours in the studio last week, and over the weekend, so forgive me if I am a tad around the bend.

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Great barrier reef

Made this lovely reef inspired nappy last night, I just love that little fella!
I have had the most busy day today, pool, shopping, cleaning, washing, the list goes on! Just one of them weekends, might be looking at cracking a corona and sitting in the sun a bit before I possibly cracking itty bitty pieces! Do not fear...I actually crack all the time, I am just good at putting the pieces back together, it's called unicorn glue.

If you do not have any.
Get some.

Looking forward to designing Alice in wonderland this arvo, feel it's going to be a late night/early morning ahead, it is a design I have always wanted to sink my horn into,  having been without a computer last few days, (the cats chewed through my cord to my laptop) has left me feeling.....Dot Dot Dot.....!!!

DESIGN ALL THE THINGS!!!!

Even though Saturdays are really busy, they are my fav day of the week, something good in the air, it's almost as if I got a whiff of unicorn poop on repeat.

Wish every day was a Sat.

Brave!

I love this ebby sooooo much!! I have been looking for it for months, and finally found the website last night! Yeah haaa!!!

It was a very late one in the studio last night, one could even say morning! The air was a summer feel, windows open night birds singing, was lovely.

Early morning sewing again, and now finally she is finished! I am off to clean my house now and cuddle my baby!!

I hope you love her, I know I sure do! I will be using this ebby quite a bit on the future for some limited editions.

70s Love!

So yesterday afternoon the heat wore of and come afternoon light I was gearing up for the studio again, created this baby till the early hours of the morning, it's a Xlarge size and a hippy theme, the girl in the cape just looks perfect with her wagon.

It's lovely weather today, around 24, windows are open, can smell fresh hanging laundry, might hit the beach, then get stuck into a  "how to train your dragon" theme, that or a "dungen and dragon".

Todays been a funny day.

Not funny as in funny ha ha,
More like funny ahhh ahhh!

Messed up a panel, snapped the foot on my 350e (happens a few times a yr) See I flog her, and she comes apart in little pieces LOL, another foot ordered and arriving in the morning. So I have the manual out for embroidering on my PFAFF the thing is doing my head in, so I might just throw my hands in the air put on a tanktop, and I don't know. Fall asleep in the sun or something nice like that.

Seemed to have dropped of the blog hot spot.

I have!

You see I have been doing a bit of thinking at late, as to the surrounding emotion on why I am reluctant to pour my journey out via my blog posts.
Lets face it I am not blogging much these days.

Well bingo.

I know why.

Now it seems to be that because BR has all of a sudden over night exploded, now more than ever I am finding my self being very conscious that lots (well allot more) people are reading my blog!!

At times I am not the best 'formal' writer.
Nor the best speller, and not exactly a A grade student at grammar.

To be honest, during english in my younger yrs I was to busy day dreaming and writing in my diary while grieving the loss of my mother early to really focus on letters of the english dictionary.
A formula, a right or wrong way, bla bla bla.

I am a creative writer, I am a artist, I am a busy mother, I am not perfect.

I am just going to be me, I write fast, live fast, I am not going to stop now, because of possible belittlement and cast judgement due to a few spelling errors and also feel like I have to sensor my self.
I am also very self conscious of my writing.
I have been hurt in the past, and I am working through that.
I said it...THAT AND INSTAGRAM! I am loving that social media of sharing, via images. I am beeming images from the studio straight from me good old iPhone into cyber, so if your on, check it out, find me from- barerumps_jerry_paige
And hash tag all the things!! So yeah, being a tad overwhelemed, and finding my love for instagram had left me not using my blog as a personal as I use to.

BR is my creative outlet, and whilst yes it is a business, which I have a hat for, I also have many hats I like to wear....

SO!!!

Getting to the point of my blog.

I am going to keep blogging!
More!
More personal stuff, me and Paige, and the studio updates again.

But this time.... I am not going to link them onto my FB business wall opening up a traffic line off hits.
They are just going to sit on the blog, and if people stumble across my entries and want to read them, than wicked!!

Here are some extremes I have been working on the last two weeks, have heaps to go, just bum down, head up in the studio, making sure to feed the magic monkey.

I am working towards a big deadline, and pushing my self energetic wise to get it done on time.

I have allot to write!
But I need to get down stairs, and start sewing.

Well that was a bucked full of eye candy eh! ;)

Black Milk Clothing on BR designer cloth!

What's more addictive than cloth nappies?
BLACK MILK CLOTHING!

Put a cloth nappy addict, and a BM addict in one bag, shake it up a little and seriously.... BANG!! Here is your edition!!!

(Hum... talking to your self is not providing fashionable Jerry!!) No....I do know a few of you feel the same, so this edition is not only for me, but for you too :)
You cloth Mumma sharkies know who you are!

This is a very limited 20 only run/release of nappies, inspired by Black Milk Clothing.
The Brain child behind the brand is a man called JL, short for James, started off not so long ago, with six bucks in his pocket, a small old secondhand sewing machine, and an idea to create tight nylon printed material clothing.

Well, look out Australia, (worldwide for that matter) BM went nuts!!.. And I can see why... His stuff is Kk Kkkrazy!
As sharing the fellow love of stylising stuff, his story is pretty cool......

I must say, I am a fello sharkie.
I do not get to join in on the all the fabby discussion groups that are the "BM family" as much as I would like to, let's face it, between running BR and raising my daughter single-handed, I do not have much time to sit down and chat too often outside my own page, but you can sure bet I refresh at every release they do!

And um, yes I have nylon spilling out of my drawers!
Ekk!

I was thinking about showing you a photo of my stash...
But hey... better not now, that would just be showing off!

I have been in touch with Cam, and the team from BM, and was wrapped when they loved my idea. They even sent me real BM galaxy material!! The appliqué on the stars is from the purple galaxy range BM have, SwOoN!

So a huge thanks the team for giving me permission to create this set. You really are going to make 20 sharkie Mummies of cloth wearing babies very very VERY happy!

I was not planning on releasing it so soon, but I let it slip on my page the other day chatting about BM, and thought, oh dear Jerry best get onto that!!! We know how ideas can "travel fast" ;) So here it is.... I am creating a girls' version too, so keep your eye out for that as well.
The sets will go live in a few weeks on the website, I will keep you up to date via my newsletter email.

Till then, you know how it rolls,
Power to the positive.
